Todd Morris Construction is currently seeking an experienced Construction Laborer for permanent, full-time employment in the Clarksville, TN area.
Reports To:
Construction Laborer reports directly to the Contracting Foreman.
Responsibilities:
- Work requires individuals to be aware of their surroundings and have good balance and physical strength.
- May be required to work at elevated heights.
- Will be performing tasks involving physical labor on construction projects.
- Job requires individuals to be proactive in their communication and responsible for their attendance.
- General construction - job site clean-up and moving materials by hand; may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris.
- Must have knowledge of tools and materials used in commercial construction.
- Skid Steer Loader operation (if possible) may be required.
- Drive various vehicles to haul materials and equipment.
- Assist in initial setup and cleanup of job sites which would include lifting, carrying, and pulling items 75+lbs in weight.
- Position may require working in all weather conditions; prolonged bending, squatting or standing and lifting.
- Other tasks, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, kneel, crawl and stretch.
- Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and hear without visual cues.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to wear respirator, body harness or other safety equipment while working in confined spaces.
Qualifications:
- Must have good driving record.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, social security card, and have reliable mode of transportation.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test.
- Experience working in an outdoor construction environment.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
During a probationary period, the candidate will be paired with seasoned staff to assist and train.
